Job offer

The new Transregional Collaborative Research Centre SFB/TRR 62 ``Companion-Technology for Cognitive Technical Systems´´ with sites in Ulm and Magdeburg is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
The centre offers

9 Research Positions

in the areas of Informatics, Electrical and Information Engineering, and Neurosciences.

SFB/TRR 62 is an interdisciplinary research activity to investigate the communication between technical systems and human users. It is particularly focused on the consideration of so-called Companion-features – properties like individuality, adaptivity, accessibility, co-operativity, trustworthyness, and the ability to react to the user's emotions appropriately and individually. The research program comprises the theoretical and experimental investigation as well as the practical implementation of advanced cognitive processes in order to achieve Companion-like behavior of technical systems. With that, it will lay the foundations for a technology which opens a completely new dimension of interaction between man and technical systems.

We are seeking qualified collaborators with outstanding graduate university degrees. The successful candidate will participate in our Graduate School, working towards a PhD degree in his/her project. Postdoc positions can be provided exceptionally, where candidates will extend their previous expertise in collaborative projects.

The positions are to be filled as soon as possible.

Information on the individual projects, profiles of positions and modalities of application can be found below.

The participating institutions are equal opportunity employers. Qualified women are especially encouraged to apply.
Disabled persons will be privileged, given comparable qualifications.

The Centre's funding period is 4 years, extension is possible.

Please send your application also in electronic form (PDF ) to the respective contact person.
