Thorsten Liebig

Thorsten Liebig is a post-doctoral researcher at Ulm University, Germany. In 2000 he received his doctor degree from Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany. He has received scholarships from the state of Sachsen-Anhalt as well as the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). In 1997 he was a visiting scientist at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, USA. His research interests are in Description Logics, ontology authoring, as well as reasoning techniques. He is involved in the organization of workshops such as the Scalable Semantic Web Workshop and has been PC member of various Description Logic and OWLED workshops. Thorsten Liebig regularly teaches graduate courses, has supervised many diploma and master students and has experience in presenting aspects of semantic technology to the industry. He is one of the initiators and active member of the OWLlink (formerly DIG 2.0) working group as well as author of the core specification.

Marko Luther

Marko Luther is a senior researcher in the Smart and Secure Services research group at DOCOMO Euro-Labs where he is focusing on knowledge-based aspects of context-aware computing and ubiquitous services. He is a core developer of the mobile community service IYOUIT, responsible for the deep integration of reasoning infrastructures. Marko Luther has an extensive background in Artificial Intelligence and Formal Methods. He received a PhD in computer science for his work on type theory from Ulm University in 2003. He is co-author of the OWLlink core specication and gathered practical experiences from interfacing IYOUIT components with RacerPro via OWLlink.

Olaf Noppens

Olaf Noppens is a researcher at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Ulm University, Germany. He studied computer science and received his diploma in 2004. Currently he is researching in the area of knowledge representation and visualizing large volumes of ontological data. He is in charge of the OntoTrack ontology editor and management system and is part of the group developing the widely used Java-based OWL-API. He has extensive experience in designing and implementing complex systems and APIs.
